Jennifer Sampson
Senior Managing Ecologist
Ms. Jennifer Sampson is an aquatic ecologist and risk assessor with 22 years of experience investigating lotic fisheries, wetlands, and estuarine ecosystems and evaluating ecological risks associated with anthropogenic disturbance. She specializes in identifying structural and functional components of ecosystems and predicting ecological responses following chemical or physical perturbations. Ms. Sampson provides technical leadership and management of multidisciplinary environmental investigations at contaminated sediment sites. She has project experience in all aspects of remedial investigations including development of conceptual site models that result in focused, strategic study designs; sediment toxicity investigations; bioaccumulation modeling; sediment transport modeling; ecological and human health risk assessment; development of sediment remediation goals; and quantitative source evaluation. Ms. Sampson has performed and directed data analyses and literature research to address key uncertainties at contaminated sediment sites, using multiple lines of evidence to resolve disagreements among parties. Ms. Sampson’s project experience also includes technical leadership of natural resource damage assessments (NRDAs), habitat restoration, ecological research, and development of aquatic systems monitoring strategies.
