Assistant Engineer

Mr. Spencer Boock is a recent graduate of Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering. He has experience with wastewater treatment research and operations, including sampling and data analysis projects focused on biological treatment processes and odor control. Mr. Boock also has experience with environmental compliance including hazardous waste management and air dispersion modeling.

Environmental Engineering

Biological Phosphorus Removal Analysis, Tigard, Oregon Assisted in research and operations of biological phosphorus treatment in aeration basins by conducting weekly sample collections. Conducted laboratory tests to measure residual phosphorus uptake rates and phosphorus release rates. Analyzed and presented data to principal process engineers to inform operations decisions.
Pump Station Odor Control Optimization, Tigard, Oregon Coordinated and collected samples from pump station discharge manholes to investigate nitrate loadings and hydrogen sulfide production. Findings were used to justify a reduction of chemical odor control at one of the investigated pump stations.

Air Quality Modeling

Particulate Matter Dispersion Model Updates, Hillsboro, Oregon Updated an existing model in BREEZE AERMOD for projections of particulate matter dispersion. Conducted quality control tests to ensure that the model would accurately portray previous results.

Regulatory Compliance

Hazardous Waste Tank System Self Assessments, Hillsboro, Oregon Conducted internal assessments of corrosive solvent waste and general solvent waste tank systems to ensure compliance with RCRA regulations.
