Petroleum and Chlorinated Solvent Release Evaluation, Queens

Petroleum and Chlorinated Solvent Release EvaluationIntegral engineers prepared multiple expert reports and provided expert witness testimony in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, regarding the alleged migration of petroleum and chlorinated constituents to the plaintiff’s property from the defendant’s property. Integral analyzed the depositional history of the area, the observed subsurface characteristics, and the nearby utilities to develop an engineering analysis of transport mechanisms and subsurface flow conditions. This conceptual site model demonstrated that contamination from the defendant’s property did not significantly flow onto the plaintiff’s property, and that the contamination on the plaintiff’s property was from independent releases on the plaintiff’s property. This conceptual site model was validated by subsequent data collection.
