Ecological and Human Health Risk Assessments for Former Copper Mining and Processing Facility

Integral conducted an  ecological risk assessment and human health risk assessment activities for a former mining facility, including developing a site-wide conceptual site model, producing work plans for screening level ecological risk assessments, and developing and implementing a wildlife mitigation plan to deter wildlife from using impacted surface water.  As part of these efforts, Integral evaluated potential local community exposure via windblown dust, and evaluated plants and animals consumed by Native Americans.  Work plans were also developed for health risk assessments at multiple operable units representing the pit lake and former process areas.  A cost-effective wildlife mitigation and monitoring program was ultimately established that has effectively deterred wildlife from impacted surface water.
