Marine Renewable Energy: Integral to Present at Waterpower Week in DC

Deployment of the NoiseSpotter system

Recognized leaders in marine energy research and innovations, Integral scientists will deliver poster presentations and chair a session at the 2019 Waterpower Week in Washington, DC. Held on April 1–3, this premier industry event includes the National Hydropower Association’s annual conference, the International Marine Renewable Energy conference (IMREC), and the Marine Energy Technology Symposium (METS). The event is filled with opportunities to network, learn about legislative and regulatory initiatives, and discuss the issues impacting the hydropower and marine energy industry.

Acoustic source location estimation, as enabled by the NoiseSpotter

Grace Chang, Ph.D., Craig Jones, Ph.D., Kaus Raghukumar, Ph.D., and Gene Revelas will present on various topics, including novel technologies for acoustic monitoring, challenges faced by the marine energy industry, wave energy capture optimization, and a streamlined and standardized benthic habitat mapping tool set. In addition, work performed on marine energy projects by Integral and others for the U.S. Department of Energy will be featured in a workshop on Wednesday, April 3, titled “Marine Energy Environmental Cost Assessment.” Dr. Chang also serves as a member of the METS Board.
