Blair Paulik Presents on Risk Communication and COVID-19 at the Akademie Fresenius ECOTOX Conference
Do you understand the risks of COVID-19? In an age of clashing information and politicized science, clear and direct communication is essential. On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, Blair Paulik, Ph.D., of Integral Consulting, will present “Risk Communication during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Best Practices and Lessons Learned” in the international virtual forum of the Akademie Fresenius ECOTOX conference.
Dr. Paulik will describe the challenges of effectively communicating about risk during the global pandemic—highlighting existing gaps in our risk communication systems. She will offer solutions to effective risk communication, including tailoring the message to the audience, acknowledging uncertainty, earning trust, and seeking training. From placing science-based information in the hands of public officials to providing tools for effective communication, Dr. Paulik will share methods that contribute to better-informed decisions for protecting public health and the environment.
