By Lisa Tolbert, E.I.T., Consultant
Managed project, performed research, and assisted in preparation of expert affidavit providing opinions related to penta, a preservative solution that contains pentachlorophenol (PCP) and is used to treat wood products. Assessed risks of installed penta-treated wood utility poles to the general public and the environment, and the changes in risk that would result from varying the phase-out period of penta. Critically reviewed evaluations of PCP completed by both EPA and Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency.
