Christina Ross and Paul DeLeo Coauthor Paper on Benzene in Sunscreens

Integral scientists Christina Ross and Paul DeLeo, Ph.D., are coauthors of an article titled “Benzene in Sunscreens & Sun Care Products,” published in the November issue of the trade magazine Happi. In light of recent media coverage on low levels of benzene detected in several sunscreen products, the article examines dermal exposure to benzene from topically applied consumer products.

In this piece, the authors highlight possible causes for benzene detections in alcohol spray sunscreens and provide context to potential health and supply chain risks associated with benzene in sunscreen products.
