Ms. Megan Jones is an environmental scientist with experience in fieldwork performing the sampling of surface water, groundwater, soil, and hazardous wastes.  She has also assisted in performing data QA/QC, modifying and preparing technical reports (standard operating procedures, quality assurance project plans, discharge monitoring reports, landfill usage reports).  Ms. Jones has worked on projects with tribal and federal government agencies and as a consultant within the petroleum refining industry.

Remedial Design

PFAS Remedial Investigation, New Jersey Collects groundwater and soil samples in support of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) investigations. Assists in data evaluation of groundwater, soil, and surface water and the preparation of technical documents. Assists with the investigation of potential third-party source contributions and provides litigation support.
ISRA Investigation, Active Industrial Facility, New Jersey Conducts field investigations including soil and groundwater sampling, and the installation of monitoring wells under the New Jersey Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) program. Assists senior project staff in data evaluation to complete the remedial investigation of the site and the determination of appropriate remedial action to address volatile organic compounds in soil and groundwater.
Hydrocarbon Remedial Investigation and Action, Bridgeton, New Jersey Completes groundwater sampling in accordance with the Permit-by-Rule. Performs subcontractor management of a New Jersey licensed driller and oversight of in situ chemical oxidation injections for remediation of soil and groundwater. Assists the engineer with data review and analysis to determine the effectiveness of injection events.

Waste Management

Hazardous Waste Management, Petroleum Refining Facility, North Dakota Served as the onsite field contact for facility personnel for the appropriate storage and disposal of hazardous waste overseen by the site’s environmental engineer. Field activities included collecting waste characterization samples, performing subcontractor oversight, maintaining hazardous waste storage areas, and facilitating waste shipments to comply with state and federal regulations.
NDPDES Permit Wastewater System Compliance, Petroleum Refining Facility, North Dakota Conducted routine wastewater sampling in compliance with the North Dakota Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NDPDES) permit requirements. Performed QA/QC on data being reported to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality and prepared monthly discharge monitoring reports for the client.
