Bio
Mr. Craig Fosdick is a senior wildlife ecologist and senior ecologist. He has more than three decades of professional and recreational experience identifying birds by sight and sound. Mr. Fosdick also has a strong background in ecological principles, survey methods, and scientific communication. He has conducted surveys for nesting and roosting burrowing owls and raptors―including for golden and bald eagles. Additionally, Mr. Fosdick has worked on projects that involved San Francisco the dusky-footed woodrat, amphibians, bats, the southwestern pond turtle, and salmonids.
As a project manager, Mr. Fosdick manages a variety of client projects, with a strong emphasis on those requiring compliance with nesting bird regulations and burrowing owls, serving as the lead biologist for many of nesting bird and construction monitoring projects. Mr. Fosdick also trains other team members in identifying nesting bird behavior and manages the field staffing of projects. He also contributes to NEPA/CEQA reports and environmental compliance documents
Prior to joining Integral Consulting, Mr. Fosdick was a senior wildlife ecologist and project manager at H. T. Harvey & Associates, where he worked for more than a decade.

Stanford University Medical Facilities, Nesting Bird and Roosting Bat Assistance, Palo Alto, Redwood City, and Stanford, California — Manages annual nesting bird survey and active nest monitoring projects for the project, which began in 2010 and requires regular nesting bird surveys and active nest monitoring to minimize constraints and delays on the client’s construction projects while minimizing disturbance to active bird nests. Golden Eagle Nesting Surveys, East-Central Idaho — Prior to joining H. T. Harvey, conducted golden eagle nesting surveys for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. This work involved working solo, hiking or driving 8-10 hours a day in semi-wilderness mountainous terrain, searching for and mapping any evidence of occupied eagle territories, and producing a seasonal report, database, and KMZ database showing all observations, as well as all photographs of all nests, territories, and individuals, including occupied and unoccupied nests. During the 5-month field season, 33 occupied territories were mapped, 99 eagle observations were made, and 24 occupied nests were confirmed, and status of 15 historically known nests were checked.
Caltrans Calpella Two Bridge Replacement Project, Unincorporated Mendocino County, California — Conducted checks of downed trees, immediately after they were cut and lowered to the ground, for roosting bats for Caltrans in advance of construction work for the replacement of the State Route 20 bridge over East Calpella Road and the Russian River.
University of California, Santa Cruz, Housing Major Maintenance Project, Santa Cruz, California — Assisted with dusk emergence surveys for bats at the University of California, Santa Cruz campus. These dusk exit surveys were conducted to determine if bats were using suitable day roost habitat documented on these buildings during an initial site assessment, in advance of tent fumigation for termite abatement.
