Bio

Ms. Colleen Vancini has 8 years of experience in environmental and geologic disciplines. She has previous regulatory experience with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Bureau of Ground Water Pollution Abatement, providing technical support for bureaus within the Site Remediation Program, issuing Discharge to Ground Water Permit-by-Rules, approving Classification Exception Areas, and serving as the case geologist on several U.S. Department of Defense and Superfund sites.

Her primary focus within environmental consulting is soil, groundwater, and vapor investigations and remediation; preliminary assessments and due diligence; site investigation; remedial investigation; and remedial action. She is routinely responsible for technical report preparation, data tabulation and analysis, map and figure preparation, and fieldwork, including site inspections; soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling; monitoring well installation; soil boring installation; test pit excavations; and subslab sample point installation.

Site Investigation

Soil Investigation, Multiple Public-School Playgrounds, Perth Amboy, New Jersey — Managed and coordinated soil sampling and investigation at multiple public-school playgrounds for potential historical fill materials. Organized, tabulated, and analyzed the data collected. Prepared technical report and figures for client and NJDEP submission.

Soil Investigation, Former Elementary School, Scotch Plains–Fanwood, New Jersey — Coordinated soil sampling and investigation at a former elementary school. Tabulated and analyzed the data collected during the sampling event. Prepared technical report and figures for client submission. Assisted in establishing the path forward for the remedial investigation and action at the site.

Remedial Investigation

Groundwater Investigation, Oil Terminal, Princeton, New Jersey — Managed the installation of several bedrock monitoring wells for the purpose of delineating chlorinated volatile organic compounds within fractured bedrock at the site.

Soil Investigation and Remediation, Former Manufacturing Facility, Camden, New Jersey — Conducted a large-scale soil investigation and remediation at a former manufacturing facility in Camden, New Jersey. Organized, tabulated, and analyzed the data collected during multiple sampling and excavation events. Prepared remedial action report for NJDEP submission that included the selection of the final remedy for the soils at the site.

Groundwater Remediation

Groundwater Remediation, Former Manufacturing Facility, Camden, New Jersey — Managed the installation of monitoring wells for the purpose of delineating groundwater contamination. Tabulated and analyzed analytical data. Conducted statistical trend analysis on site contaminants and breakdown products. Prepared a remedial action workplan for NJDEP submission and assisted with establishing the path forward to determine the final remedy for groundwater at the site.

Vapor Intrusion

Annual Subslab and Indoor Sampling, Former Plating Facility, Fairfield, New Jersey — Managed and conducted annual subslab and indoor air sampling for a former name plating facility. Tabulated analytical data. Prepared annual immediate environmental concern report for submission to NJDEP.

Subslab Investigation, Industrial Facility, Newark, New Jersey — Installed subslab vapor intrusion sampling point and conducted subslab sampling.

Biweekly Soil Vapor Extraction System Monitoring, Former Dry Cleaner, Livingston, New Jersey — Conducted biweekly soil vapor extraction system monitoring at a former dry cleaner. Collected real-time system readings. Tabulated the data collected.
