Lacey Meadows Watershed Assessment and CEQA Compliance

Since 2013, Integral staff have served as consultants to the Truckee River Watershed Council for the Lacey Meadows watershed, which contains more than 1,000 acres of high-quality montane meadow habitat degraded by decades of seasonal sheep grazing. The team led the ecological aspects of a watershed assessment, characterizing vegetation communities, assessing Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog habitat, and identifying forest management and grazing options to improve ecological function. Matt Wacker led development of a detailed livestock grazing plan to guide management of the meadow, and the team prepared the revegetation elements of construction plans and a baseline ecological assessment for two meadow restoration projects.
