Project Summary

Since 2009, Integral staff have provided on-call biological consulting services to the Santa Clara Valley Water District under successive Master Biological Services Agreements, completing more than 120 task orders to date.

Challenge

Valley Water needed a consistent, cost-effective way to address a wide range of recurring biological resources issues spanning environmental analysis, wildlife ecology, and plant ecology, delivered efficiently across more than 120 distinct task orders, with a partner able to function as an extension of its own staff.

Our Role

Integral staff developed a process with Valley Water to perform on-call tasks efficiently, cost-effectively, and thoroughly across three main areas:

• Environmental Analysis: prepared a draft Biological Assessment for the South County Water Recycling Master Plan EIR/EIS, and delivered a wetland delineation and habitat study for the Sunnyvale East/West Channels Flood Protection Project
• Wildlife Ecology: conducted woodrat nest monitoring, salt marsh harvest mouse trapping and monitoring, burrow surveys on 13 dams, and nesting bird surveys and deterrence
• Plant Ecology: performed aerial photo-interpreted vegetation mapping for the Stream Maintenance Program and lower Llagas Creek

What We Delivered & Results

More than 120 task orders have been completed to date across these three disciplines, sustaining a consistent, on-call delivery model since 2009 and continued active engagement as an extension of Valley Water’s internal team.
