Site Investigation

Removal Action Sampling, Former Fertilizer Manufacturing Facility, Guánica, Puerto Rico Supported the direct-push drilling sampling effort to collect and process more than 140 soil cores over the course of multiple field mobilizations across various offsite properties. Provided GIS support to develop figures and work plan elements.
Remedial Investigation, Confidential Location Supported a large-scale field effort regarding a natural resource damage matter that included alleged injury to potential ecological and recreational uses. Assisted field lead in mobilization effort and sample tracking, processing, and quality assurance for more than 6,000 individual samples.
Former Pesticide Manufacturing Facility, Jacksonville, Florida Responsible for planning an ISM investigation for wetland sediment. Led the collection and preparation of wetland sediment field data and developed detailed field documentation. Produced maps with proposed increment locations using ArcGIS.
Former Wood Treating CERCLA Facility, Columbus, Mississippi Assisted with the development of technical memoranda, compliance monitoring reports, and figures for a former wood treatment and storage facility in Columbus, Mississippi.
High-Resolution, Optically Based, Chemical Contaminant Monitoring System for Remedy Performance Evaluation at DOD Contaminated Sediment Sites, Various Locations, U.S. Participated in surface water sampling and deployment of multiple optically based sensors along with ancillary water quality sensors. Responsibilities included sensor maintenance, sample collection, handling, and shipping.
Remediation Investigation at Former Chemical Manufacturing Facility, Portland, Oregon Assisted with sediment sample processing and quality assurance of chain-of-custody documentation for several hundred samples.
Assessment of Hazardous Materials in Soil, Various Public Schools Statewide, Hawai‘i Participates in multiple large soil investigations for the State of Hawai'i Department of Education Facilities Division. The projects consist of building-exterior soil studies at more than 150 school campuses in Hawai‘i with field activities including both XRF and incremental soil sampling along exterior building perimeters and open areas at school campuses. Assists project manager in developing recommendations and authors soil management plans for soil containing metals (primarily arsenic and lead) or organochlorine termiticide compounds at concentrations above regulatory action levels. Provides support in generating hundreds of figures across multiple client deliverables.
Lead Removal Action Waste Characterization and Removal Action Determination Sampling, Kapolei, Hawai‘i Assisted in subsurface multi-increment sampling to identify lead-impacted soils along paved and exposed exterior building perimeters. Responsibilities included sample collection, handling, and processing. Produced a technical report of findings with recommended actions and disposal determinations for soils within the project site.
Site Assessment of Former Industrial Facility, Maui, Hawai‘i Conducted extensive historical records review to determine locations of interest for further investigation in support of property acquisition. Assisted in subsurface soil sampling using direct push coring methods. Produced a report of findings and assisted in providing regulatory considerations and recommendations.

Site Remediation

Residential Yards Time-Critical Removal Action, Former Fertilizer Manufacturing Facility, Guánica, Puerto Rico Served as a member of the construction quality assurance field team for a removal action addressing PCB-impacted soil at offsite properties. Assisted in the successful implementation of a community dust monitoring program; manifesting of hazardous and nonhazardous waste for offsite disposal; collection of soil grab samples; and oversight of soil excavation, backfilling, and stockpiling activities.
Soil Removal Actions, Various Public Schools Statewide, Hawai‘i Responsible for authoring and managing the production of regulatory documents for selected removal remedies at various school campuses in Hawai'i consisting of soil excavation and cap-in-place remedies. Serves as lead on historical preservation regulatory matters and provides environmental oversight of remedy implementation.
