Web Development

U.S. Department of Energy, Wave Resource Assessment Dashboard Assisting in developing a web application that aims to provide comprehensive energy resource assessments and offshore characterizations required for successful marine energy development. Primarily responsible for implementing the cloud infrastructure and data management workflow needed to integrate 30‑year hindcast analysis data.
Coastal Morphometrics Analysis Toolkit Designed a web application and data management workflow that allows users to easily process and create visualized time series of coastal profiles, view along-coast variations and changes through time, and view accompanying morphometrics statistics.
U.S. Department of Energy, Multi-Use Decision Support Dashboard Assisting in developing a user-friendly web toolkit to support ocean multi-use management with marine renewable energy planning and development. The dashboard serves to empower communities with information and interactive data analysis and visualization tools, and promote meaningful stakeholder engagement, communications, and decision-making.
U.S. Department of Energy, Marine Energy Regulatory Toolkit Designed a web toolkit to provide permitting and licensing resources for regulators and developers interested in marine energy projects that leverage energy from marine and hydrokinetic resources such as waves, tides, rivers, and ocean currents. Compiled, managed, and summarized environmental data relevant to marine energy applications as toolkit reference material.
Pasco Landfill (NPL), Pasco, Washington Prepared daily dashboard reports of real-time treatment system data for critical project personnel and ad hoc data reporting.

GIS Design

Spatial Environmental Assessment Tool (SEAT) Assisted in designing a Python plugin for QGIS to quantitatively describe marine renewable energy-driven changes to the physical and acoustic environment. The plugin allows marine energy project developers to focus on navigating site- and technology-specific challenges via simulation tools that can assess, a priori, the anticipated impact a marine energy project may have on the environment while also considering optimal array designs.
Field Data Collection Applications, Washington and Oregon Designed field data collection templates using Survey123 and Collector for environmental field activities including groundwater sampling, borehole logging, Phase I environmental site assessments, Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead inspections, and generic field summary reports.
Natural Resource Damage Assessment, Hanford (NPL), Washington Performed extensive remote sensing of historical imagery at the Hanford NPL site to quantify surface disturbance during remediation activities.  Produced map series of findings to present to trustees.

Stormwater Treatment

Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead, Eastern Washington/Eastern Oregon Monitored the execution of a development’s stormwater pollution prevention plan to ensure compliance with water quality requirements.

Site Investigation

Focused Groundwater and Petroleum Light, Nonaqueous-Phase Liquid Assessment, Hermiston, Oregon Served as lead field geologist responsible for borehole drilling oversight, temporary well installation, field sampling, and site monitoring. Delineated the extent of groundwater contamination near the suspected dissolved plume boundaries and investigated an onsite area near the former underground storage tanks for the potential presence of petroleum light, nonaqueous-phase liquid.
Geotechnical Investigations, Various Locations, Eastern Washington Orchestrated and executed geotechnical investigations for commercial and residential construction design. Characterized geologic formations using boring and test pit methods and performed infiltration and compaction testing.
Hanford (NPL), Washington Served as wellsite geologist responsible for providing oversight to well installation and development for expansive pump-and-treat systems.
Assessments, Various Locations, Eastern Washington Conducted State Environmental Policy Act and Phase I environmental assessments for clients in Washington state. Responsibilities included collection of historical and public data, document review, site inspection, and report writing.
Pasco Landfill (NPL), Pasco, Washington Served as technical site consultant for the Pasco Landfill Superfund site in Pasco, Washington. Supported field sampling, monitoring, remediation efforts, data management, and reporting.
Umatilla Chemical Depot Asbestos Survey, Umatilla, Oregon Conducted building inspections for asbestos-containing building materials to assist abatement activities.
