In the April 19 issue of Water Well Journal, Avram Frankel, P.E., contributes to a lively roundtable discussion on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances—known as PFAS—a family of chemicals that is posing numerous questions and challenges to regulators, industry, and the public. A professional engineer with more than 25 years of experience, Avram Frankel has spent a large part of his career addressing emerging contaminants. He has overseen the successful design, installation, and optimization of groundwater remediation and potable water treatment systems across the U.S. In the interview with Water Well Journal, he discusses what to do to protect water systems and the progress being made in water treatment options.
As a supplement to the journal article, Mr. Frankel also participates in a one-on-one video interview on PFAS with journal editor Mike Price. In the video, he describes what PFAS are and the different regulatory approaches to dealing with them.
