Integral Deepens Engineering Bench with Recent Hires Nationwide

Integral is pleased to announce that four new staff members have joined our Engineering practice: Anthony Shields, Spencer Savage, Nikki Rise, and Jessie Powell. “With the continued growth of our engineering project portfolio, we are building our staff to support clients throughout the country,” said Integral President Bill Locke, P.E. “These hires accompany recent and anticipated expansion of technical capacity across several of the company’s major service areas.” (Learn more about open positions at Integral.)

Anthony Shields, Cherry Hill, New Jersey, is a registered professional engineer with 6 years of experience in environmental engineering and consulting. Mr. Shields specializes in soil, soil vapor, and groundwater remediation and investigation in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania and has extensive experience with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Site Remediation Program. He has provided engineering support for the design, construction, and operation of a wide variety of systems and remedial methods, including bioremediation systems, soil vapor extraction and air sparge systems, engineered capping, in situ chemical oxidation injections, subslab depressurization systems, in situ stabilization, and excavation and disposal.

Spencer Savage, Salt Lake City, Utah, has a wide range of engineering experience relating to water resource engineering, environmental engineering, and construction engineering. As a water resource engineer, he has worked on projects involving hydrologic and hydraulic investigations, 1- and 2-dimensional floodplain modeling, bridge scour analysis, stormwater design and analysis, preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans, stormwater permitting assistance, and stormwater design manuals. Prior to working as a water resource engineer, he gained extensive experience in environmental engineering by working on state and federal Superfund projects. These projects involved environmental site assessments, remedial investigations and feasibility studies, abandoned mine reclamation, soil-vapor extraction systems, pump-and-treat systems, and environmental sampling.

Nikki Rise, Seattle, Washington, is an assistant engineer with professional experience providing support in contaminated soil and sediment remediation, cost allocation, and soil and sediment data analysis. Her work experience includes sites contaminated with PCBs, hydrocarbons, metals, and pesticides in soil and sediment. She is a recent graduate from the University of Washington with a master’s degree in civil engineering, focused on environmental engineering. Her academic experience includes contaminant fate and transport modeling, hydrologic modeling, water treatment design and engineering, fieldwork, environmental data analysis, and GIS and remote sensing.

Jessie Powell, Portland, Oregon, is an assistant engineer with a focus in environmental engineering processes, remediation efforts, and water quality. She is a recent graduate from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, with a bachelor of science degree in environmental engineering, where she focused on wetland restoration, water treatment processes, and water resource management.
