Ian Stupakoff

Senior Environmental Scientist

Mr. Ian Stupakoff is currently a coprincipal investigator and project manager for a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) research grant to characterize the geographical distribution of cadmium concentrations in oysters throughout the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast. This cutting-edge research project also assesses risks in human consumption of shellfish, which involves the collaborative work of several educational and nonprofit organizations.

Mr. Stupakoff is the field coordinator for all sampling investigations undertaken by Integral Consulting. He specializes in the management of field operations for aquatic, sediment, and oceanographic investigations. Mr. Stupakoff has designed and installed numerous data collection systems, including the full range of sediment sampling, surface water trace metal clean sampling, and radioisotope laboratory analyses. He has also been involved in modeling geochemical cycling of trace metals by phytoplankton/zooplankton communities in coastal and open ocean waters. He has authored several journal articles about his research, developed numerous sampling plans and health and safety plans, and created interactive computer presentations summarizing sampling rationale.

Mr. Stupakoff has also been a chemistry, biology, and environmental sciences instructor at The Evergreen State College, in Olympia, Washington, and Hobart and William Smith Colleges, in Geneva, New York.
