Integral Vice President and Principal Betsy Day will speak on “Designing Long-Term Sustainable Source Control” at the January 30, 2012, conference sponsored by the Environmental Law Education Center in Portland, Oregon. Her presentation will focus on source control challenges associated with ubiquitous sources with the potential to recontaminate remediated sediments to unacceptable levels, especially at sites with cleanup levels based on background.
Ms. Day is a senior level sediment scientist who specializes in addressing management of contaminated sediments at complex sites. She has held key strategic and technical roles at numerous CERCLA sediment sites in the Pacific Northwest and Midwest, led remedial investigations and feasibility studies, overseen sediment remedy implementation, and supported a number of liability allocation matters under both CERCLA and NRDA.
