January 14 2010
Speaker(s): Laura Jones

Ms. Laura Jones of Integral Consulting presented findings from the Portland Harbor Draft Remedial Investigation Report at the Environmental Law Education Center Environmental Cleanup Conference in Portland, Oregon on January 8, 2010. The conference covered legal, regulatory, and technical issues surrounding the Lower Willamette Group’s remedial investigation of the Portland Harbor Superfund Site, which is located on the Willamette River just north of downtown Portland. The draft RI report is a culmination of eight years of work to characterize the site and assess risks to human health and the environment. Ms. Jones’ presentation focused on the site characterization and the conceptual site model. Other topics included the site’s historical background, project status, litigation and allocation issues, human health and ecological risk assessments, source identification and control, and the path forward to the Feasibility Study.
