Integral Consulting is pleased to announce that Dr. Marcia Greenblatt has joined our firm as a senior managing engineer, and will open Integral’s newest office in the Boston, Massachusetts, metro area. Dr. Greenblatt’s technical specialties include contaminated sediment investigations, and hydrodynamic, sediment transport, and thermal modeling. With a Ph.D. and master’s degree in water resources engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, she has 13 years of experience as a project manager and lead modeler for projects in the U.S., Canada, and South America.
Dr. Greenblatt is skilled in CERCLA remedial investigations, complementing Integral’s existing strong RI/FS team. Most recently, she has served as technical lead for a remedial investigation at a large sediment Superfund site in New Jersey, which includes work on an ongoing sediment stability analysis of the tidal river system. Her other projects have ranged from performing modeling to support water quality analysis of a harbor in Nova Scotia to developing a model to support the design-build of a 9,000-ft hurricane barrier in Louisiana. She has designed and performed studies to predict hydrodynamic flows; sediment erosion, transport, and deposition; and water quality. Dr. Greenblatt has also performed numerous modeling studies for mixing zone evaluations to support NPDES permitting.
“Marcia’s modeling expertise further strengthens our ability to meet client needs in all areas of water resource management,” said Judi Durda, Regional Director and Principal. “We are thrilled to have her on board as we continue our growth in the Eastern region. This is a plus for our clients and an exciting step for our company.” Earlier in 2010, Integral Consulting opened a new office in Portland, Maine, with noted professionals specializing in human health and ecological risk assessment, air quality, and litigation support services. Marcia and the Boston office join Integral’s established presence in New England and will provide services to clients across the country.
An effective communicator, Dr. Greenblatt excels in presenting complex site data to a wide range of stakeholders, including technical committees, government agencies, and lay audiences. She has presented technical work at numerous conferences in the water resources field and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Western Dredging Association.
